Why SEO fails?

Seriously, have you given a thought at why your SEO tactic fails? Or is failing? Well one thing is - do not brag about what you cannot do. Show what you have done and say - this is what I have done and this is what I can do.  Nothing more.

I happened to read this article by some dude -
http://www.conversationmarketing.com/2010/10/sleazy-seo-sales-tactics.htm and honestly that is EXACTLY what every single SEO must do.

Tell me if you feel any point in what he says is arguable. I bet you it isn't.

So, happy reading and I hope you'd really like it.

The 8 villians of social media

Well, its a direct lift from a reputed social media - a look at the picture itself tells you a lot.

Obviously, the not so good guys are shown here. One thing I would want to say is - I do not subscribe to the race, breed or lineage of any of the characters here. They are all the figment of imagination of the original author at SEJ.

Have fun though, reading this post.

Microsoft Ex Buddies and their budding ideas

Here is what I found on Mashable. Interestingly some cool applications/ website like Corbis, iLike and a lot other stuff are found here on this page.

Would be worth having a look at what is there on each website. Hope I do get time to have a peek and send you some cool reviews later.

Twitters and connections

Twitter by itself has been one of the best micro blogging apps available on the internet. Trust me, if you were in India you can find almost all celebrities and well known politicians using it (rather, manipulating it to their advantage).

Though limited to just 140 characters at a time, Twitter is very effective. Do you remember the saying that goes - Short is sweet? Well, it is. And very powerful too.

I happened to search for Twitter apps that you can use in conjunction with it and found a truck load of such app in the link here. Cool list from the one and only one Mashable. I cannot say for sure if I'd used all or even checked it out, and cannot assure you if all the links are good. Go figure.

And then there was another list from TechCrunch. Well the list is almost similar to what Mashable had to offer - maybe I missed out something on Mashable? Here is the list from TechCrunch

I hope you do enjoy reading this piece.

Chrome Sucks

I recently downloaded Chrome and found that it was certainly good in speed, simplicity and ease of use. Google has made a good publicity on this for sure.

However, I would like to point out some of the lacunaes in what I saw in Chrome.

1. You can certainly not get the best of results, I mean, the WYSIWYG effect. Try looking up for a website from Yahoo! or MSN and you will see that its not displayed in the best of resolution.

2. Okay, this one is really annoying. You cannot find the menu anywhere. Its tucked away in a corner, yes - there are 2 icons for it. But well...

3. I am an Internet Marketer. I was Google-ing on some keywords for an anti aging product to look up the rankings manually. What I found was that Chrome stopped me abruptly. Chrome thought I was spamming or being a spammer. Now, isn't that crazy?

4. Another fact is - Chrome (I think) made itself look too clumsy. Used to get hung all the time. No wonder, I ultimately decided to get done away with it.

5. This is the most recent of the update I have with me (as on August 10th), is that, Google has an app (drag n drop documents from the desktop) which necessarily needs Chrome. Duh!

6. September 23rd. Okay I am post the 9/11 euphoria (there was never any euphoria, but anyways), and I reloaded Chrome (again?) as against what I mentioned in #4. One fact is - you cannot find the page rank and any other stuff like that here. The ironic part is Google Toolbar itself is not available for Chrome. Wow!

(Will add some more such experiences as I get them)

Want Traffic? Try Facebook

Here are some good tips on how you can get traffic from the very own Facebook. Yes, Facebook.

This article explains you why is it important not just to get your profile right, but also have a group, perhaps create some of your own extensions (this is for the nerdy ones) and yeah, just keep posting stuff you like (or dont like).

Twitter like application for you.

Its but a known fact that Twitter has been the best micro-blogging website so far (or it has claimed its way to the top, must I say?)...anyways, here are some nice apps - very similar to Twitter or even better than it - as they say.

Read this article and you will know what I mean.

Well, who said Twitter tweets?

Travel info for free with Wili Travel

Some good travel guide and free (reliable? no idea!) info from Wiki Travel. I liked the idea of using this one. Read all about the UAE and quite liked it too. Made me nostalgic about it.

Some good website templates to look for

Blogging is not just writing, its more of an art. But I am going to just jot down points (hopefully everyday) that I find interesting.

Here are some good website design templates - for free I guess  - that you can use.

http://www.templatemonster.com/ - quite a well known website.

http://www.freesitetemplates.com/ - seems to be a good one, though have to look into it.
http://www.freewebtemplates.com/ - good one. seems like a lot of options out there to explore.
http://www.elated.com/pagekits/ - another good one, hopefully having good templates in it.

I will write a review on these websites later on. So wait for more....
